Social Incompetence

Have been mentoring one guy for some time in my role, wherein the work related mentoring is going on I am getting mentored albeit unconsciously on social etiquette's, and just started to understand what I am missing and will continue to miss with my current location, work and lifestyle.

Having been with friends at work is probably a situation most desired however it also has it's side effects, work moves friends apart...and suddenly you are lost for that uncomplicated, unrestricted and taken for granted company.

Now things have changed...

not that I am averse to meeting people..it is more like what do I do in front of them ..sit down, touch feet...the protocols are just to messy for me to remember...not that I have this problem everywhere, however meeting new people seems to be a problem.

New friends are difficult...

Bob Dylan's Song...Things have changed comes to mind

It is tough meeting new people and making new friends, no doubt about that...
I won't call it social incompetence though, sometimes there is too much BS to deal with! :) So at times, the so called "social incompetence" can be a boon at times too! :) No extra BS to deal with besides the regular BS that one experiences in life. Lol!

Although social incompetence is definitly there..and it is quite alarming...

Friends..making new ones have always been a difficult task...always needed a catalyst ..so ...

Not to worry, let it pass! :) We all go thru those phases.

Look for a catalyst, then new friends will follow. :)
